Jordan Danger explains how to survive a zombie invasion

By: Jordan Danger

I’ve seen some pretty wild things happen on Bank Street, but I think the BIA’s plan for this Halloween may really top’em all.

This Halloween day, from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., you really need to come down to Bank Street. They’re staging a ‘zombie invasion’, but it’s not like anything you’ve ever seen before. For the first, last, and only time in history, people aren’t running away from the zombies: they’ll be running to them.

The length of Bank Street, from Wellington to Gladstone, will be overtaken with zombies, and each one will be carrying lanyards that they will string around your neck—if you’re brave enough to let them catch you. Each lanyard will be carrying a ‘key’, and you’ll want to run straight down to La Prep on the corner of Bank & Cooper; there, you will find an array of coffins. All you have to do now is swipe your key and see if your key opens one of the coffins, which contains a major shopping spree for the Bank Street BIA.

After you’ve won your shopping spree (should you be so lucky), I expect to see you joyously running around and chasing down zombies for big zombie hugs.

I suggest you bring your smartphone to record some of the fun, and ask a nice zombie to pose for a picture with you.

This is the first major event put together by the Bank Street BIA since their big rebranding in the summer. With so much new development coming into the area, the BIA team is getting creative with some fun ways to liven up the street. Come on down and say hi, as I’ll be doing some video recording along the street; I’ve got my fingers crossed that we see some unsuspecting visitors to the area who have no idea what’s going on that day.

So come on down to Bank Street on Halloween day between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., and make a new (undead) friend.
