It used to be that Ottawans had to travel to Montreal to go to Eggspectation. Since they opened at 171 Bank Street and Laurier, there’s been no need to go anywhere else for brunch. Eggspectation’s spacious interior has an urban industrial feeling complete with exposed brick walls. Their eggs benny menu is unparalleled. When you feel like celebrating, they have a number of other indulgences (lobster omelette, anyone?) They also have a few lighter items on the menu for when you want to watch your salt and fat content.

We like that they’re open nice and early at 6:30 am on weekdays and 7 am on weekends. It means that you can start your day early and get on with your plans. And now they offer a lunch menu with burgers, pastas and entrees. Try spending some quality time there over the holidays. It’s a great way to start the weekend.
